Pastor Jennifer Hackbarth has been an ordained pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) since 2004. She came to Christ the King as lead pastor in 2008. Prior to that, she served as pastor of a rural congregation (Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd, MN) and as interim associate pastor at St. Anthony Park Lutheran Church in St. Paul. She is passionate about connecting faith and Scripture to real life, and is inspired by the countless ways she’s seen this connection set people free from burdens, find authentic community and seek to do justice in their neighborhoods and the world.
Pastor Jennifer grew up in Brainerd, MN and attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, majoring in Psychology and Child and Family Studies. She completed her theological education at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, where she was a Presidential Scholar. She also has professional training and experience in children, youth and family ministries.
Pastor Jennifer is a published author, and you’ll find her articles at the Fidelia’s Sisters and Living Lutheran websites as well as Bold Café and Gather magazines. She enjoys travel, reading, cooking, running, music and spending time with her husband, two children and their energetic dog.
