Visitor FAQ

How do I get there?

Christ the King is located at 1660 Birch Lake Avenue in White Bear Lake. We are just north of Highway 96 off of Otter Lake Road. We are next door to Birch Lake Elementary School. Click here for a map and directions.

What times are your services?

We worship at 9am on Sunday mornings throughout the year with a fellowship hour following. During the school year, Sunday School is held at 10:15am on Sundays. Adult Education opportunities are often held throughout the year following worship.

Where do I park? Is there handicapped parking available?

You are welcome to park in the handful of parking spots in front of the church, or you may park in the lot on the south side of (behind) the church building. Simply follow the signs. Overflow parking is close by at Birch Lake Elementary School. Handicapped spots are at the NE and SE entrances, and there are volunteers ready to assist you from your car to the building if needed (we also have wheelchairs available for your use). The church building is completely handicapped accessible.

What styles of worship do you have?

Christ the King embraces many different worship and music styles, all while staying true to our Lutheran roots. A more traditional service with organ is held on the first and third Sundays of the month. On the second, fourth and fifth Sundays of the month the King’s House Band plays a variety of music selections to enhance worship (the schedule adjusts a bit in the summer). Communion is celebrated on the first, third and fifth Sundays of the month throughout the year.

Is there child care available?

Christ the King offers a nursery that all can use, but we do not have an attendant. This is because most families bring their children to worship, and we welcome children wholeheartedly! There are blue cloth bags full of toys, crayons and coloring books for all children to use in worship, and the area outside our worship space has a rocking chair and toys so caregivers and children can take a break while still hearing, seeing and participating in worship. We love the noise, energy and joy children bring to worship and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Do I have to dress up?

No! There is no dress code at Christ the King. We welcome you as you are. You’ll see people wearing all different styles of clothing here.

Where do I find more information about Christ the King?

There is a Welcome Center outside our worship space with brochures, sign-ups and other information. However, when you come to worship there will be plenty of people ready and willing to get to know you and answer questions about our congregation. You may also call the church office or make an appointment to talk with the pastor.
