Sunday School

Christ the King uses the Living the Word curriculum from Spirit & Truth publishing, which follows the Narrative Lectionary.  Each week students learn more about the story that is read in worship that are work through the entire Bible each year!

Sunday School students are ages 3 years-5th grade and meet on Sundays during the school year at 10:15 am (following worship).

Each Sunday students are expanding on the story that read during worship in fun and creative ways with their teachers.

If you have questions about Sunday School, contact Laura Gorton, Director of Children and Youth Ministry.

Sunday Mornings at a Glance

What happens on Sunday mornings during Sunday School? At 10:15 am on Sundays, we ring the Sunday School bell marking the beginning of Sunday School. All students gather in Room 106 for our opening, along with their teachers and any parents that want to join us

At the opening, the Bible story for the day is introduced or reviewed.  We also collect offering each week, which goes to support a student scholarship in Masisiwe, Tanzania or other local causes.

After this time, each class makes their way to their classroom where they engage in games, activities, discussions, and more surrounding the story of the week.

At the end of class time, students meet again Room 106 for a large group closing time, which includes music, prayer and reviewing the Bible story for the day. Sunday School ends at 11:15 am.

After the closing, students who are in our Cherub Choir meet for a short practice.
