Volunteer to Serve in Worship
Worship is at the heart of who we are at Christ the King. There are many different ways to serve each week, with ongoing or one-time commitments, and we hope one of them speaks to you!
The Altar Guild prepares the sanctuary for worship services, most specifically the altar area. This includes preparing the elements for communion, coordinating altar flowers, supplying baptismal napkins, and decorating the sanctuary according to the church seasons.
Ushers assist with coordinating the movement of people before and during the worship service. They welcome people, distribute bulletins, and assist with finding seats, counting and recording the number of worship participants, receive the offering, direct worshipers to communion, and straighten the sanctuary after the service.
Readers share the texts for worship during the service. The reading of Scripture is central to worship and sets the foundation for the entire service, which means the role of the reader involves speaking clearly and with understanding.
Greeters makes members and visitors feel welcome as they arrive for worship. This role involves opening doors, acquainting visitors with the building, assisting people from their cars to the doors, and answering questions.
Communion servers help in serving the communion elements to the congregation with reverence.
A/V (audio/visual) volunteers run our livestream and projection during worship.
